Pair your hearing aids with an Android device
Five quick steps for connecting your hearing aids to most Android phones over Bluetooth.
Pairing guide
Pairing your hearing aids with an Android device
Android
These steps work for most Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids on a recent Android phone. Settings menus vary slightly between manufacturers, so look for the closest matching option if your phone uses a different label.
Supported manufacturers
Starkey, Widex, ReSound, Signia, Oticon
- 1
Enable Bluetooth
Open Settings on your Android phone, go to Bluetooth, and switch it on. - 2
Put your hearing aids in pairing mode
How you do this depends on the model.- Rechargeable hearing aids: place them in the charger, then remove them.
- Battery-powered hearing aids: open and close the battery doors.
Pairing mode lasts only a couple of minutes. If your phone does not see the devices in time, repeat the action.
- 3
Open the Bluetooth menu
Stay in the Bluetooth menu and wait a few seconds while your phone searches for nearby devices. Some Android phones expose a separate Hearing enhancements or Connected devices setting that you may need to tap into. - 4
Select your hearing aids
When your hearing aids appear, tap them and confirm with Pair or OK. For a binaural set, you will be prompted to pair the second device the same way. - 5
Confirm the connection
Once paired, the hearing aids should show as Connected in your Bluetooth device list. Play a short video or take a test call to confirm sound is routing through the hearing aids.
Different Android phones (Samsung, Pixel, Motorola, and others) expose Bluetooth and accessibility menus in slightly different places. If a step looks different on your phone, look for the closest match in your Settings or Connected Devices section.
