Pairing guide
Pairing your hearing aids with an iPhone
Apple iOS
These instructions cover most Made for iPhone hearing aids. Have your hearing aids and iPhone within arm's reach before you start.
Supported manufacturers
Starkey, Widex, ReSound, Signia, Oticon
- 1
Enable Bluetooth
On your iPhone, open Settings, tap Bluetooth, and make sure the toggle is on. - 2
Open hearing device settings
Go to Settings → Accessibility → Hearing Devices. Your iPhone is now ready to discover the hearing aids. - 3
Put your hearing aids in pairing mode
How you do this depends on the model.- Rechargeable hearing aids: place them in the charger, then remove them.
- Battery-powered hearing aids: open and close the battery doors.
Pairing mode usually stays active for a couple of minutes. If the iPhone does not see the devices in time, repeat the action.
- 4
Tap to connect
When your hearing aids appear under Devices, tap them to pair. If you have a binaural set (left and right), you will be prompted to tap Pair twice, once for each side. - 5
Confirm the connection
Your hearing aids should now appear under MFi Hearing Devices with a Connected status. Take a test call or play a short video to confirm sound is routing through the hearing aids.
If a connection drops or audio sounds wrong, the fix is usually to forget the hearing aids in iOS Bluetooth settings, restart the iPhone, and pair from scratch.
